About the DeEP Fellowship @ OCC

To be eligible for a DeEP Fellowship at Oakland Community College (OCC), applicants must be currently enrolled for 6 or more credit hours and have no more than 30 credit hours remaining in their program of study and/or in courses that satisfy the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). Students must have a 2.5 grade point average and be US citizens. Successful applicants will receive financial support potentially through graduation which may include tuition, fees, and books. Fellows will also receive extracurricular support through convenings on topics related to “college knowledge”, career attainment, and personal growth through community service.

Resources / Opportunities

DeEP knows that OCC students balance a lot in order to achieve their degrees or certificates and attain their career goals. To help our Fellows be more successful, DeEP provides:

  • Financial support

  • Life skills workshops

  • Financial skills workshops

  • Resume and interviewing support

  • Real world experience

Community

DeEP believes that our Fellows want to give as much as they receive. So in addition to working in cohorts toward supporting each other, Fellows will pair with a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community organization to provide services toward that organization’s mission. It is assumed that this involvement will be complementary to the Fellow’s school work while not too demanding upon their schedules.
